How does payment work?

Payments are handled by Polar, our payment partner and merchant of record. Your card statement, receipt, and the email with your license key will all show Polar's name.

I lost my key / can't find the email.

How many Macs can I use it on, and how do I free up a device?

What happens when the 30-day trial ends?

What are the system requirements?

GroupShelf runs on macOS 15 or later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Are updates paid?

No. Every 1.x update is free for all buyers.

Why isn't it on the Mac App Store?

The App Store sandbox doesn't allow the Accessibility permission GroupShelf relies on. That permission is used for one thing: reading the position and title of other apps' windows so they can be moved, resized, and raised together as a group. GroupShelf doesn't read what's inside your windows or what you type, doesn't record your screen, and nothing about your windows ever leaves your Mac. That's why it's a direct download only. Can I install it with Homebrew?

Yes. Run this command in Terminal. As with the direct download, updates arrive inside the app.
